Treaty of Waitangi Day

  • Every year on 6th February New Zealand marks the Signing treaty of waitangi In 1840. Representatives of the British Crown And over 500 Maori Chiefs signed What is often considered To be New Zealand's Founding document. The day was 1st Commemorated In 1934, And it has been a public holiday since 1975.

Queen Victoria

  • Queen Victoria was One of the people who signed the treaty of waitangi first. I'm not really sure who signed it first?. Also Hone Heke was one of the first person to sign the treaty of waitangi. Queen Victoria  ruled United Kingdom In 1837 Until her death in 1901. Queen Victoria had nine children and the Oldest child of them all was named princess Victoria. Her husband was named Prince Albert.


Some information:

When it's waitangi day, Some people are happy celebrating. Some other People are angry about the treaty. So that means they don't celebrate waitangi day.

  1. Loto you have done a good job gathering information about the treaty and also about Queen Victoria. Wow she had 9 children. I found with some of your peers that Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Phillip are her great grandchildren meaning they are cousins. Isn't that interesting?
