A Trip to OMG Tech

On a Saturday, a fine day, some of the glenbrae students got chosen to go to OMG Tech. It is where we build robots. We are going to do 3D printing, coding, and fixing stuff.  Only 20 people got to go. We went by bus. The bus was called riche.

In the bus there were only nineteen people because one person was away. We drove from lebron circle to the

city. It was a long drive. By the time we got there, there was a lady called Michelle Dickinson that showed us glenbrae students, around OMG Tech.

There were activities for us to go to, and also there were other schools there too. The first activity I did was the 3D printing. Its when you go in the computer and build your robot. When you are finished print it. It takes long to print out what you have created.

After 40 minutes we had to move to a different table. It was where we fix stuff. I did all of the activity, but the most thing I liked was the building robots. It was amazing. It wasn’t robots that stand up, it was car robots. How to control it was we plug a wire from a computer to the robot car and then we write down forward, backward, turn right, turn left, twist right and twist left. We can also put a siren on the car. It was awesome We got free lunch. It was very healthy. We had to go now. But if you want to see Michelle Dickinson as nanogirl here is a link.

Google Expedition

Google Expedition

On Tuesday my class got the opportunity to have a look on google expedition. It haven’t came out yet. We were the first kids to be on the volcano.

When we were looking in it, it feels like I was there for real. The guy that brought it was named Maru. It is called a cardboard viewmaster with a smartphone inserted. This is what it looks like.

The adult controls everything. They control it by the tablet. Our teacher changed it to the great wall of china. It takes 4&5 hours to get to the end. It's a long walk.

We went to lots of places. It was fun.

Seasons happen throughout the year & include Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer.

In Autumn the leaves come of. In Winter some of the country's snow. Sometimes it snows in Christchurch. Next we have Spring. Spring makes stuff grows. Like flowers and trees. At last we have Summer. Summer is when we have some sun and it make living things

grow.

These seasons happen because of the earth axis. The earth is on a tilt. If the earth wasn’t on a tilt there won't be any seasons. It will be summer forever. This is what earth looks like on its axis.

Earth goes around the sun. when earth is on the left it's Winter. When the earth is on the right it will b Summer. When earth is at the top it is Autumn and when the earth is at the bottom it is Spring. That's how it works.

A trip to Stardome

A trip to Stardome

On Thursday my school got the opportunity to go Stardome. It was a hot and windy day. We went by bus. There were 3 buses. Before we went to stardome we had a quick break for us to go toliet.

When we got there we hopped out of the bus. First we had a quick break outside. When we finished room 10 and room 9 got the chance to play on the park. But room 7 and room 8 went into the stardome. It was more better than the park. When we got inside a good lady took us into a room. She told us about the planets and the stars. Some kids were asking “what will happen if the sun exploded”. She told us it won’t it will live for ever.

We learned lots about planets and stars. It was incredible. We had a little tour around stardome. It was very interesting. After our tour we had to go to the observatory room. It's where we watch a movie about the planets, the screen was on the ceiling. “cool right”. We leaned back and watch the movie. What I learned from that movie was that the earth is tilt. I thought that the earth was straight. If the earth was straight we won’t have any season.

After that we finished what we have started. We had to go because it was time to head home. We had a fun trip at stardome. Every single person said they learned something new from the stardome. That is a great place to visit.
