Malama Honua Welcoming

WALT: recount the Malama honua welcoming.

On wednesday 25 march 2015 the seniors of  glenbrae school went to Pt England Beach, Panmure, Auckland, NZ. We went to Pt England beach to sing to welcome Malama Honua waka’s.

We walked to Pt England Beach because it was not that far. The people that were going to see had sailed here in a waka. They came to hear what have we learned to welcome them. We sang a song to them. 2000 student were there. 12 schools were there. There were only 12 schools because we lead them to a new world. The school names were Glenbrae school, thats us Glen Innes, Pt England, Panmure Bridge, Tamaki College, Tamaki Primary, Stonefield, St Patricks, St Pius X Kura, Kaupapa and Ruapotaka.

I felt thirsty and hungry. We got a chance to hi-five them. When we high-five them we said aloha. It was fabulous. Maikalani is the meaning of hook from heaven.

When we finished we sat on the grass waiting for the other teachers to come. After that we went.

      

I would be a cat.

If I were an animal, I would be a cat because it looks handsome like me and its not dangerous. I want to be a cat because it meows so nicely. I want to be as nice and sweet as a cat.

My pizza fraction

In this activity i had to make a pizza fraction. I learned how to make a pizza fraction and learn more about pizza. The part i found the hardest was to make a pizza fraction and take a picture

Butterfly creek

Our trip to butterfly creek

On Monday 16-3-2015 Glenbrae School went to a trip to Butterfly creek. We went by bus. We went to Butterfly creek to learn about dinosaur’s, Butterflies and crocodile.

When we got there we went to have morning tea. We went to the dinosaur kingdom after we had morning tea. The instructor’s was paul and sanita.  Teachers were taking picture’s. There were egg’s and a dinosaurs. The dinosaurs were mechanical.

After that we got bored so we went to the train. It looked like it was a toy train to me. We went around  the dinosaur kingdom. It was fun.

When we finished riding on the train we hopped off and let the other kids have a turn. We went to the farm place to look at the different kinds of animals. Like guinea pigs, pigs, bunnies, tortoise and some’s goats parrot.   

Then we went to the butterfly room. There were butterflies everywhere. The butterflies were going on people. In the butterfly room it was really hot. It was 30.c, to hot. The butterfly room had fish, birds, monkey, and finches.

The teachers told us to move to the crocodile place. We looked at the alligator and the crocodile but they did not move. There were little alligator inside a box. At the alligator and crocodile place there were lizard’s. I was scared. After that we went to have lunch. When we finished having lunch we went to watch the alligator and crocodile show.

We had fun watching the alligator and crocodile show. We went to get our bag from the place we had our morning tea. We went to the bus. The teacher counted us first before we got in the bus. I had fun.

The best part I’d like was the butterfly room. I like it because there were different kind of butterflies. The difficult part was to  watch the alligator because everybody was blocking my way.

I learnt all different kinds of stuff, about me from writing this poem. 
The difficult part was to share stuff that people don't really know about me.
