Activity 1
Once you have read these phrases you will be ready to leave the airport and head to your hotel. Take a moment and imagine how you might feel if you were standing in the airport in a foreign country and you had to figure out how to communicate with people in a brand new language. Would you be scared? Would you feel confident? Write a short poem that describes how you might be feeling (i.e. excited, happy, scared, nervous, etc).

I would be feeling excited, speaking in a different language,
Happy, energetic, scared and surprised,
Ill try to blend in with a disguised,
Talking to people with different accent,
IT WILL BE FUN!!!

Activity 2
Take a selfie that captures how you might be feeling. I think that I would most likely be feeling scared.

I would most likely to be feeling sleeping at this point because I had a really hard day helping out with my family! =)

  2. Hi Loto!

Great to see you back online! Welcome back to the Summer Learning Journey!

Haha! I love the photo and poem. That is pretty much what I look like a couple of hours into arriving - especially after a long flight. First is a look of amazement, followed by eating some good food, then off to the accommodation to crash and recover from the flight.

I hope to see some more blogs soon. Don't worry about how far you are into the journey yet. You still have 11 days to complete it, and you are a very quick poster. I am sure you will do just fine. It honestly doesn't even matter if you complete it or not, just as long as you are having fun and enjoying learning about the world!

    Keep up the fantastic work!

  3. Hi there Loto,

I'm Von a year 7 student from S.P.X school. I like your poem and selfie. Hmmm... Maybe it's better to sleep then stay up feelings scared and worry because as soon as you fall asleep your worries and sacredness calms down and you begin to feel relaxed. Anyways Great work for completing this activity and Keep up the amazing work!

    Von,

  4. Hi Loto!

It is the last day of blogging today and I just wanted to say hello and thank you for participating these holidays. It is so nice to see students taking control of their own progress and maintaining their own literacy levels over the summer holidays.

I really wish you all the very best for this year, and hope you enjoy your new class and are looking forward to all the learning before you.

    Kia kaha, Loto,

    Mark
